Inspired by the myths and legends of Islay, Bowmore Whisky partnered for a third collaboration with acclaimed graphic artist Frank Quitely to celebrate the global release of their limited-edition whisky, Lovers Transformed, with a multi-platform campaign exclusive to global travel retail.

Our Response

Lovers Transformed tells the mythical tale of forbidden love between a Pictish Princess and the enemy, a Celtic warrior, who were claimed by the sea amid their quest to escape to the safety of the Island of Islay. 

As with previous Frank Quitely & Bowmore collaborations, our work covered all aspects of the campaign - from concept exploration to the creation of key visuals, product renders, 3D activations and a digital toolkit to assist the global travel retail rollout.

The campaign film and social media content were filmed directly in the cold Scottish sea, along with water-tanks in a studio and using reflective material to create the submerged aesthetic. These physical methods, coupled with a voiceover by Frank Quitely himself, brought the legend of the Lovers Transformed to life.
