Civerinos - Stockbridge

The Opportunity
Civerinos is a New York-style pizzeria with punk attitude and skate-shop grit. The brief for this location, however, was to create an authentic, old-school family dining experience. Owner Michele Civiera wanted to honour the Italian heritage that underpins his brand while staying true to its street culture roots.

Our Response
Each new restaurant is an evolution of the Civerinos identity, ensuring brand consistency while embracing the unique character of its surroundings. For Stockbridge in Edinburgh, the vibe was old-school Italian-American pizzeria meets classic New York slice joint -
Family recipes, red sauce, checkered tablecloths, and a touch of Sopranos swagger.
Inside, rich Sapele timber panelling lines the walls, layered with old family photos, hand-painted skateboards, classic square-format tiling, stainless steel worktops and chrome-edged tables. A new takeaway coffee and pizza slice counter sits at the front, where customers can perch at high benches and look out to the street. The flooring here is a black-and-white mosaic tile, with a subtle checkerboard paint effect on the ceiling.
S+Co designed bespoke signage and fittings throughout, including a red peg-board menu and a wall-mounted neon chef. Outside, the façade is clad in white brick-format tiling, complemented by a classic red-and-white striped awning, custom illuminated signage, and hand-painted window lettering - again, all crafted by the S+Co brand team.
