The Compass Group approached us with an ambition to create a distinctive hospitality brand that could grow beyond a single venue. The challenge was to develop a compelling proposition, brand identity and interior concept that would stand apart in a competitive market while providing a strong foundation for future expansion.

Beginning with the first Chop House in Leith, we developed a complete hospitality concept inspired by the great traditions of the neighbourhood pub and modern chop house

We created the name, brand identity and customer proposition, ensuring every aspect of the experience felt considered and cohesive. From the signage and menus to bespoke patterns, materials and architectural detailing, the brand was designed to be expressed consistently throughout the customer journey.
The aim was to create a place centred around exceptional produce, warm service and a relaxed sense of occasion

HONEST INTERIORS
The interiors combined honest, robust materials with moments of warmth and refinement, creating spaces that felt equally suited to long lunches, celebratory dinners and late-night drinks.
Rich textures, crafted details and carefully considered lighting helped establish a distinctive atmosphere that became synonymous with the Chop House experience.




BUILT TO GROW
As the business grew from one restaurant to three locations, we continued to work alongside the client to evolve the concept for each new setting. While every venue responded to its own building, layout and neighbourhood, each retained the character and identity that made the brand successful.
The success of Chop House also led to further collaborations with Compass Group, including White Horse Oyster & Seafood Bar and Monteiths.

What began as a single restaurant in Leith evolved into one of Edinburgh's most recognisable independent hospitality brands.
By bringing together proposition, brand, interiors and delivery, we created a concept with the flexibility to grow while maintaining the quality, atmosphere and sense of place that defined the original Chop House experience.
